The Sunset July 2013

A Message from BJ...

Are we meeting on "the bridge" for the unofficial "Aripeka 4th of July Fireworks Display" again this year? Aripeka has a great celebration on "the bridge", there are no sponsors, just folks who love to put own their own personal fireworks display while the rest of the crowd watches!  This is Aripeka's own unique 4th of July celebration!

HAVE FUN AND STAY SAFE ON THE 4TH!
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

Also don't forget the Independence Day Celebration here at Aripeka West on July 5th at 6 PM.  We may not have a big fireworks display, but there will be lots of food and fun!

Independence Day Celebration...

This year will mark the 237th Anniversary of our nations independence and to celebrate, Aripeka West will host a cook out in the RV Park on July 5th at 6 PM.  Anyone want to play Pool, The Bimini Ring Game, Ping Pong, Corn Hole or Darts?  We have lots of games so let us know.  Please bring a side dish to share.  Hope to see everyone there.  We will have a drawing for patriotic items after dinner, so make sure to drop you name in raffle bucket.

Rainy Season is here...

Looks like we are back to the every afternoon rain program and it is absolutely normal for Aripeka this time of year!  The rain is wonderful for the grass, shrubs and flowers and in many cases we get a little reprieve from the 90° temps which is rather nice.  While the rain is great for nature and everything is growing at a rapid rate, the rain does slow the mowing process, so please be patient and know that we will be to your area soon.  Pleas keep your yard cleared so that we will be able to mow your yard when we are your area.  It is especially important to remove dog leashes, hoses and any other items that may be hidden from view when we mow.

Weather Underground...

Weather Underground is a great source of instant weather information on the web.  The site has all the current weather conditions for Aripeka.  Ever wondered what the current weather is in your hometown?  It is easy to check it on Weather Underground, just enter the Zipcode or the name of the city and state in the search block and instantly you will have the information.  You can  get updates on warnings and advisories, including hurricanes, tropical storms and even thunderstorms as they approach Aripeka.  Hurricane and Tropical Storm Tracking is available.  They also post some interesting news stories about the weather and the people it affects.

AripekaWest.com...

We continue to work on our new website, it is a work in progress and we will continue to add new pictures and info each month.  You can read "The Sunset" on our site each month too.  We have had several requests for rental MH's and RV sites since we created the website.  This is exciting because it means our website is really doing its job.  If you have pictures that you think really represent Aripeka and especially Aripeka West, please email them to AripekaWest@gmail.com for consideration.  Submitted pictures must have been taken by you to be considered.

Turkey Sightings...

While it may be a bit more exciting to see a bear here at Aripeka West, that does not happen often, but "Turkey Sightings" are almost daily.  Three turkey mom's have around 10 young ones that they parade throughout park.  There have been "sightings" in the RV park, the MH park and in the surrounding fields!

More Fun in the Sun...

Enjoy fishing from the bridges in Aripeka, visiting Pasco County Parks and Beaches, visiting Hernando County Parks and Beaches, seeing the Mermaids, renting Canoes and Kayaks, visiting the Wildlife Survival Sanctuary in Hernando County and just relaxing at the park.

Has anyone visited any of these places?  If you have, please post on our Facebook Page, tell us how you liked it and post a picture if you took one!  It is always fun to hear from our friends about local events, parks and other entertainment and recreational venues located nearby.
