I am looking forward to a fun filled Winter Season!

Good Morning Aripeka West...

Our tradition of enjoying coffee and breakfast on Wednesday morning will continue this Winter Season.  We will operate a bit differently this year though, instead of a large Buffet Breakfast every Wednesday Morning, we will simply have Coffee and toaster items every Wednesday except the last Wednesday of each month when the Buffet Breakfast will be served.   This will make Breakfast preparations for the 40 or so people who normally attend much less demanding and allow us to continue to gather once a week instead of cutting back to once a month for breakfasts.  There has been a huge increase in grocery and meat prices this summer and by making the Breakfast Buffet only once a month it will allow us to continue to prepare the items everyone enjoyed last winter and maybe even let us prepare bacon once in a while.  What is it that caused bacon, possibly the best food on earth to skyrocket in price!

This year we are also starting a Coffee Fund, we are asking each person attending Good Morning Aripeka West each Wednesday to donate $1 per week, so we can buy the "good stuff" we all like, such as bacon and sausage!  Darn those huge profits the investors made in Pork Bellies this year!

Our first Good Morning Aripeka West Coffee will be on October 9th, at 9AM, thinking something sweet to go with the coffee!

Weekly Bowling Return...

The Aripeka West Gutterball Bowling Team will take to the lanes again in the middle of this month, we will no longer be bowling at Leisure Lanes as they shut down this summer and have now closed for good. So Hudson Bowl or Spring Hill Lanes, here we come! Hope you are ready for us!

The team is open to anyone who wants to bowl.  We are not a part of any league, you can bowl with us any week you care to join us.  We normally bowl 3 or 4 games each night depending on the number of people.  We are not sure what the cost will be this year since we will be playing in a new bowling center, but it looks like it will be around $2 per game, plus shoe rental.

Good Neighbors...

We are going to have a full house again this winter, so remember to be a good neighbor.  Keep your belongings on your site and keep you site neat and clean.  Quiet time begins at 9PM Sunday - Thursday and 10PM Friday & Saturday.  Occasionally there will be Park Events that may last a little later than 9PM or 10PM depending on the day. Those attending the Park Events, please be mindful of the noise as some people in the park have jobs and need their rest.

Our Fire Pit:

It is there for all RV Park Guests, but remember fire safety.  Please keep the fire small so it can be easily extinguished easily.  If you start the fire, you are responsible for extinguishing the fire.  Children under 21 years of age may not start a fire.

Our Laundry Room...

The Laundry Room is open to Registered RV Park Guests ONLY 24 Hours a day, each Wash or Dry costs $2, the machines only accept quarters, quarters are available from the office during the daytime only.  Please don't forget to clean the Lint Filter on the dryer after each load.  Please help us keep our Laundry facilities clean.  Smoking is NOT allowed in the Laundry Room.

Our Restrooms...
The Restrooms are located just past the Laundry area, the Restrooms are also NO SMOKING, please refrain from lighting up.  Limit your time to 15 minutes in the Restroom, others may be waiting.  The Restrooms are cleaned every day, please leave the Restroom clean and remove all of your belongings.  Restrooms are for RV Park Guests only.

Our Pavilion...

This Pavilion is for everyone in the RV Park to enjoy, there is a small stereo for music, picnic style tables for gathering, chatting, eating with your friends and playing games or doing puzzles.  Please limit Puzzles to one table. There is a Pool Table located on the Pavilion,  50 cents per game, cues and chalk are also located on the Pavilion.  If you play pool, please recover the table and replace the clips to keep the table clean and dry.  Please treat our pool table as if it were your own.

Our Office...

Our office hours vary daily, but if you need anything during the day and the office is not open, we are located in Lot #2.  Should we not be on premises, please call 727-868-9324.  After 5PM emergency and late arrival only.

Pot Luck Pasta Dinner...
We will celebrate the return of our Winter Guests with a Pot Luck Pasta Dinner on Tuesday October 15th at 5 PM.  Please join us and bring you favorite Pasta Dish, you need only bring enough to feed the number of people you will be bringing.  The Park will supply Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, a Salad and Tea.  If you can't or do not want to bring a Pasta Dish, please see Gail to find out what other foods are needed.  We usually need a couple of deserts and bread, please ask.  If you do not want to bring anything but an appetite to the Pot Luck, please feel free to join us but there will be a $5/person charge for dinner.

Canoe & Kayak Trip...

We are taking a trip down the Weeki Wachee River on Monday October 21th. We will leave Aripeka West at 9 AM.  We will start our trip at Paddling Adventures located at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park.  Their standard rate is $30 for a single Kayak and $35 for a Tandem Kayak or a Canoe (canoes can hold 3 people) which includes pick up shuttle from Rogers Park to your vehicle at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park.  If we can get enough people to go and rent, we may be able to get a Group Rate.  You can launch your own boat for $6, but there is a $10 per person charge for shuttle return to Weeki Wachee Springs State Park.  At that price it would be $21 to bring you own Kayak or Canoe with two people and shuttle service and $16 for a canoe or Kayak and one person.  If this trip is a hit, we can take a few other Canoe & Kayak trips at other places, like the Gulf of Mexico, Anclote Key, Peace River, Rainbow Springs, Chassahowitzka River  and we are open to try any other trip you would like to take!

Halloween Spooktacular...

The 3rd Annual Halloween Spooktacular will be held in the RV Park on Monday October 28th starting at 7PM.  Costumes make the party so much more fun, so please use you imagination and come dressed for the occasion.  This year we will have a Costume Contest, so make sure that you vote for your favorite!  Finger foods and sweets will be will be our Treats for this year's event, so please bring a Treat to Share.  We are discontinuing our Decorating Contest this year and instead we will have a Costume Contest.  Looking forward to seeing all the great costumes!

Operation Totem Pole...

This month we will kick off Operation Totem Pole.  This will be our shared project this year.  This project is open to everyone at Aripeka West.  We are going to build Totem Pole signs (similar to the picture).  Each guest or resident will have the opportunity to make a sign to add to our Totem Pole(s).  You can make your own sign, paint and decorate it and add it to the pole or we will make you a sign to paint and decorate and add.  The idea of the Operation Totem Pole is to have a sign on the pole for every resident and guest telling us how many miles it is to their "hometown" or other place that is important to them.  If you are making your own sign, please make it similar to those shown in the picture, as our signs need to be similar in size.  You can be creative with you shape, but the sign cannot be longer that 24'' or taller than 7".  Hope everyone will get involved and make this project a big success!

Online Photo Albums...

This winter we will create an Online Album that will include pictures of all of our Guests, those who are here for the entire season as well as those who just stay a day or two.  We will take a picture of you standing or sitting by your RV and add it to the album.  We are also looking at making a printed version where we would be able to add additional information to make it easier for the new friends to keep up with you.  We will let you know in advance when pictures will be taken, no surprise photo shoots for this.  We want you to be happy with your picture!

Additionally this year, we will make individual event albums.  We will do our best to capture each event digitally and put together a slide show to remember the fun we had each time.
